Hi, my name is Frances,
I trained in vinyasa flow yoga with Yoga London in 2016. I love the meditative quality you get from matching the breath to each movement and am fascinated by the mind body connection. In my classes I help my students to draw their awareness into the body, creating space and stillness in the mind. I am also a trained Clinical Hypnotherapist and love to use yoga nidra and guided visualisation to help my clients to achieve deeper levels of relaxation.
Yoga enables us to find stillness and clarity in our increasingly busy and complicated lives. It allows us to catch a glimpse of our true essence and reveals our connection to the universal consciousness which connects all living things. We move towards a steadiness of mind using concentration and focus, moving our body mindfully through a sequence of poses, matching breath to movement to create a moving meditation.
We live most of our life in our mind, tied up in our thoughts. Yoga gives us the opportunity to bring the feeling of the body to consciousness and reconnect the mind and the body. The actions of the body can affect the mind and the mind can effect what happens in the body – yoga allows us to gain some control and we can notice the tangible health benefits as our bodies become stronger and more flexible. There is opportunity for a more holistic approach to managing our health.
